LaToya's Key Issues

Mental Health in Our Community

Mental health challenges impact families across our district, regardless of background. Whether affluent or struggling, of any race or ethnicity, with any level of education, and at any age, no one is immune.

To effectively address this crisis, LaToya will fight to increase resources and improve access to mental health and substance use programs for all members of our community.

Burden of Blueprint Mandates

As Maryland implements the mandates from the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, we must prioritize strategic and sustainable changes that are both cost-effective and compliant.

LaToya’s approach will balance the requirements of these mandates with fiscal responsibility, ensuring that we maintain high-quality education and services.

Excessive Government Spending and Taxation

During the COVID-19 pandemic, federal and state governments incurred significant spending increases. This spending, funded by taxpayer dollars, is unsustainable. We cannot simply spend our way out of economic problems, and the consequences are now becoming apparent: rising taxes.

This trend must be reversed. As a small business owner, LaToya understands the importance of fiscal responsibility and return on investment. We cannot afford to continue funding ineffective programs with our hard-earned money. Instead, LaToya will prioritize tax cuts for hardworking families, empowering them to make their own spending decisions.
